Connecting and Blocking: Mountains in Tao Yuanming's Poems and Articles
Abstract
Mountain is important geographical space in Tao Yuanming's literary works. Some mountains from Yuanming's reading memory and imagination connect some real scenes, and some mountains as real geographical space also connect Yuanming's Xing Yi road and home, or connect the countryside and home, to a certain extent, reflecting the poet's inner emotions. Some mountains have a barrier effect, which is the shelter of Yuanming when he looks at his hometown on the way to Xing Yi, and after Yuanming's retirement, the mountains also block the contact between Yuanming and the outside world to a certain extent, but it is also a barrier to stabilize the inner world. The mountains in the Tao Hua Yuan Ji connect the road into Taoyuan, but also isolate the outside world to a certain extent. Yuanming is like the fisherman in Tao Hua Yuan Ji, who can enter the Taoyuan world from the mountains, and Yuanming is like the man in the Taoyuan, who takes the mountains as the barrier and finally lives in the world close to the Taoyuan. The mountain is the spiritual territory in the life of Yuanming and has special meaning.
