About the Theory of Neighborhood Communication
“Neighborhood Communication” is an original theoretical concept introduced in 2013 by Professor Di Lu of the School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University. It has since become a cornerstone of China’s research on international communication. Over the years, this field has yielded remarkable results, ranging from scholarly monographs to high-quality journal articles that span theoretical development, case analyses, and practical applications. As interest in periphery communication theory grows within the global academic community, the Peking University Neighborhood Communication Research Center continues to expand its research agenda. The center hosts academic forums, publishes research reports, and has established digital platforms to support interdisciplinary and cross-regional academic exchanges.
